Hi everyone! My name is MacKenzie and I’m the owner of PEAK. I teach all of the modalities we offer - Climb, HIIT, strength, yoga (refresh) and all of our popular combo classes!

Fav way to HIIT YOUR PEAK? I can't choose! I absolutely love cross-training and have found so many benefits from combining HIIT, climb + yoga (refresh).

Outside of PEAK, I teach elementary physical education in French Immersion and I'm studying to get my Ph D. in Kinesiology and Education - with a focus on employee wellness and community school health. I love to travel, read, do yoga, and drink coffee. I also love spending time with my friends + family. You’ll see my husband, Spencer, and my dog, Dublin around the studio most days! ⁣

Why do you HIIT your PEAK? I have worked in gyms since I was 16 and became certified as a personal trainer in 2008. But, when I battled blood cancer in 2013, I lost a lot of muscle and became very unfit. I lacked the motivation to workout, and no longer enjoyed a regular gym setting full of strangers. Group fitness helped me regain all of that back + make some lifelong friends! ⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣When I started PEAK (Firus Fitness) in 2016, I wanted to create a safe space for people who had never worked out before or were intimidated by typical gym settings for various reasons. I wanted a judgment-free, body-positive space where people could connect, have fun, and build consistency in their exercise routines. Most of the OG PEAK Pack were terrified when they first started but fell in love with the community we've created. I hope you love it as much as we do! The best part of PEAK is the pack!
